GX130CrSi29 Casting

GX130CrSi29 casting (material no. 1.4777, old DIN designation G-X 130 CrSi 29) is a high-chromium heat resistant cast steel to EN 10295. With 27-30% chromium and 1.2-1.4% carbon it resists scaling up to 1100°C in air, while chromium carbides give extreme wear resistance – which is why the GX130CrSi29 casting is a first choice for furnace grate bars, annealing retorts, burner drums and other low-load, high-abrasion furnace parts.
Chemical Composition and Key Properties
Chemical composition of GX130CrSi29 / 1.4777 (EN 10295, % by weight):
| C | Si | Mn | Cr | Ni | Mo | P | S |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.2-1.4 | 1.0-2.5 | 0.5-1.0 | 27-30 | ≤1.0 | ≤0.5 | ≤0.035 | ≤0.030 |
Key data: density 7.6 g/cm³; maximum service temperature 1100°C in oxidizing atmosphere and 1050°C in reducing atmosphere (EN 10295); soft annealing at 800-850°C available on request.
International Standards Comparison – Equivalent Grades
International equivalents for the 1.4777 heat resistant casting across European, American, Australian, Chinese and other standards:
| Region / Standard | Equivalent Grade | Comparison Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Europe – EN 10295:2002 (formerly DIN 17465:1993) | GX130CrSi29 (1.4777) | Base grade: C 1.2-1.4%, Cr 27-30%; rated 1100°C in air |
| China – GB/T 8492-2014 | ZGCr29Si2 | Compositionally identical (C 1.2-1.4%, Cr 27-30%); rated 1100°C; annealed at 800-850°C |
| USA – ASTM A297/A297M | Grade HC (UNS J92605) – closest | 28Cr-type, Cr 26-30%, but C ≤0.50% – much lower carbon, not directly interchangeable |
| Australia – AS 2074 | Grade H4A – closest | Cr 26.0-30.0%, Si ≤2.0%, but C ≤0.50% and Ni ≤0.50%; order to technical agreement |
| International – ISO 11973 | GX130CrSi29 | Same designation in the ISO system |
| Japan – JIS G 5122 | SCH6 – approximate | Listed as counterpart in steel cross-reference handbooks |
Notes: GX130CrSi29 (EN 10295) and ZGCr29Si2 (GB/T 8492-2014) are compositionally identical. ASTM A297 HC and AS 2074 H4A share the 26-30% chromium band but limit carbon to 0.50% – they are the closest listed grades, not interchangeable equivalents. Any cross-standard substitution should be approved by engineering review.
Typical Applications
- Furnace grate bars and grate plates for burning systems
- Annealing retorts and hearth plates
- Burner drums and burner nozzles
- Agitator arms and agitator teeth for pyrite roasting furnaces
- Slide bars, chutes and feed racks
- Kiln protection rings and boiler parts

We machine to your drawings, soft-anneal at 800-850°C on request, and deliver every GX130CrSi29 casting with EN 10295 / GB/T 8492-2014 material certificate.
FAQ
What is the Chinese equivalent of GX130CrSi29 casting?
ZGCr29Si2 under GB/T 8492-2014 (Heat-Resistant Steel and Alloy Castings for General Applications). Its chemistry is identical – C 1.2-1.4%, Si 1.0-2.5%, Cr 27-30% – so castings can be accepted against either standard.
Is there a US ASTM equivalent grade?
There is no exact equivalent. ASTM A297 grade HC (UNS J92605) is the closest – a 28Cr-type heat resistant casting – but its carbon is limited to 0.50%, far below the 1.2-1.4% in GX130CrSi29, so treat it as a comparison grade only.
Can you produce to customer requirements?
Yes. Send your drawings or samples; we quote per part, machine to print and ship with material certificate, including 800-850°C annealing when required.
