High Strength Steel Casting
Custom High Strength Steel Casting for mining, construction, petroleum and heavy machinery. Leesh Holdings supplies OEM high strength steel castings by sand casting and investment casting, with heat treatment, CNC machining and full inspection under one roof.
Custom High Strength Steel Castings
High Strength Steel Casting is the reliable answer for components that must carry heavy static and dynamic loads in harsh environments. Through controlled chemistry, low alloy design and heat treatment such as quenching and tempering, a steel casting reaches tensile strength and impact toughness that ordinary cast iron cannot offer, while remaining weldable and machinable.
Leesh Holdings manufactures high strength carbon steel castings and high strength alloy steel casting components from 0.05 kg up to 25,000 kg, based on customer drawings, 3D CAD models and samples. Every heavy duty steel casting can be supplied heat treated, finish machined and fully inspected, ready for your assembly line.

Material Grades for High Strength Steel Castings
Grade selection drives the strength of every high strength steel casting. Whether you need a low alloy steel casting for heat treatment response or a stainless grade for corrosion resistance, we pour to your specified chemistry and standard.
| Material Category | Typical Grades & Standards | Typical Applications |
|---|---|---|
| Carbon Steel | ASTM A216 WCB, WCC, LCB, LCC; 1020–1045, C45, Q355 | Frames, housings and bases for heavy machinery |
| Low Alloy Steel | ASTM A148 high strength grades; 4140, 8630, 42CrMo, 40CrNiMo | Quenched and tempered steel castings for booms, couplings and gear parts |
| Stainless Steel | ASTM A351 CF8, CF8M, CF3, CF3M; SUS304, SUS316 | Corrosion-resistant pump, valve and petroleum components |
| Custom Grade | Chemistry and mechanical properties per customer requirements | OEM parts with special strength or toughness targets |
Sand Casting and Investment Casting Process Flow
Your high strength steel casting can follow either of two proven routes. Sand casting suits large, heavy parts at lower tooling cost, while investment casting delivers near-net-shape precision for complex, smaller components.
| Step | Sand Casting Route | Investment Casting Route |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Pattern and core box making from drawings or CAD | Wax die making and wax pattern injection |
| 02 | Green sand or resin sand molds with sand cores | Ceramic shell built by slurry dipping, then dewaxed |
| 03 | Electric furnace melting and controlled pouring of the specified grade | Controlled-temperature pouring into preheated ceramic shells |
| 04 | Shakeout, gate and riser cutting, shot blasting | Shell removal, gate cutting, grinding and blasting |
| 05 | Normalizing or quenching and tempering to specified properties | Same Q&T and annealing options, completed in-house |
| 06 | Critical bores, faces and threads CNC machined to print | Near-net-shape parts finished with light machining |
| 07 | CMM, MT/UT/RT NDT and final dimensional inspection | Chemistry, tensile, impact and X-ray verification |
Applications of Heavy Duty Steel Castings
From wear parts to pressure-containing components, a high strength steel casting earns its place wherever loads and toughness demands exceed cast iron.
| Industry | Typical Components | Key Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Mining Machinery | Crusher components, rope wheels, bucket teeth holders | Impact and abrasion resistance |
| Construction Machinery | Boom sockets, hitch parts, track and coupler components | High tensile strength and weldability |
| Petroleum Machinery | Valve bodies, valve internals, wellhead fittings | Pressure containment and low-temperature toughness |
| Pump & Valve | Impellers, wear rings, corrosion-resistant trim | Strength combined with corrosion resistance |
| Railway & Automotive | Brake and coupler parts, suspension brackets | Fatigue strength and dimensional stability |
| Agricultural Machinery | Plow shares, disc blades, linkage components | Wear resistance with toughness |

Leesh Holdings Casting Capabilities
Leesh Holdings runs both casting routes in-house. Our investment casting service operates silicon sol and water glass lost wax lines for steel, stainless steel and alloy steel parts from 0.05 kg to 100 kg, where silicon sol achieves CT4–CT6 tolerances and Ra 3.2–6.3 μm surfaces. Our sand casting service adds two automatic molding lines for cast steel and cast iron, covering 50 kg to 25,000 kg steel castings in green sand, resin sand and shell molding processes.
- OEM & ODM support — every high strength steel casting ships with material certificates and export documentation
- Two routes, one supplier — precision investment casting where you need it, economical sand casting where you don’t
- In-house finishing — heat treatment, CNC machining, polishing, drilling and tapping, plating and coating
- Complete inspection — spectrum analyzer, tensile and low-temperature impact testing, X-ray, MT, UT and CMM

Frequently Asked Questions
What is high strength steel casting?
A high strength steel casting is a steel component produced by casting and then strengthened through chemistry control and heat treatment such as quenching and tempering. Compared with cast iron, it offers far higher tensile strength, impact toughness and weldability for load-bearing parts.
Which steel grades can you supply?
Carbon steel to ASTM A216 WCB and WCC, high strength grades to ASTM A148, low alloy steel casting grades such as 4140, 8630 and 42CrMo, and stainless grades such as CF8 and CF8M. Customer requirements and special chemistries are welcome.
Sand casting or investment casting — which suits my part?
Investment casting suits complex parts from 0.05 to 100 kg that need CT4–CT8 tolerances and smoother surfaces, while sand casting suits large, heavier parts from 50 to 25,000 kg at lower tooling cost. We recommend the most economical route after reviewing your drawing.
Can you supply quenched and tempered steel castings?
Yes. Normalizing, quenching and tempering are completed in-house, and mechanical properties are verified by our tensile and low-temperature impact testing machines, with certificates supplied for each batch.
What tolerances and surface finish can you hold?
Investment castings reach CT4–CT6 (silicon sol) or CT6–CT8 (water glass) with Ra 3.2–12.5 μm as-cast, and sand castings reach CT8–CT12 with Ra 6.3–25 μm. Critical dimensions are CNC machined to your drawing.
How do I get a quotation?
Send 2D or 3D drawings with material, quantity and testing requirements to sales@leesh.cn or use our Contact Us page — our engineers respond within 24 hours.
