Hot Forging 42CrMo4 Special Steel Tooling Steel Forgings

Hot Forging Process of Leesh

GB42CrMo is a very common material of Leesh daliy work, its equivlent to the below standards:

EN/ISO: 42CrMo4 (German W-Nr. 1.7225)

AISI/SAE: 4140 (also ASTM A193 B7)

BS: 708M40 / CFS11 / EN19

What is the 42CrMo material?

It is an ultra-high-strength alloy structural steel .With hot forging process advantage, it has high density and nearly no internal defects, espcial suitable for hot forging process for havey loading purpose.

1. Elements (GB/T 3077)
C: 0.38~0.45%
Si: 0.17~0.37%
Mn: 0.50~0.80%
P: ≤0.035%
S: ≤0.035%
Cr: 0.90~1.20%
Mo: 0.15~0.25%
Cu: ≤0.30%
Ni: ≤0.30%
2. Mechanical Properties
After quenching and tempering, the tensile strength can reach 1080 MPa, and it exhibits excellent low-temperature impact toughness. No Obvious Temper Brittleness.
Excellent High-Temperature Performance: It features high-temperature creep strength and a high fatigue limit.
