EN-GJN-HV600 XCr23 Casting

EN-GJN-HV600 XCr23 Casting is a high chromium abrasion resistant white cast iron grade specified in EN 12513 (material number EN-JN3049). Alloyed with 23–28% chromium and heat treated to a minimum hardness of 600 HV, it is one of the most dependable materials for severe sliding and erosive wear. Leesh Holdings produces this grade as custom wear castings for slurry pumps, crushers and mining equipment — supplied rough-machined or fully finished to your drawings.

Chemical Composition of EN-GJN-HV600 XCr23 Casting

The table below shows the standard composition of EN-GJN-HV600 XCr23 Casting according to EN 12513. The high chromium content forms hard (Cr,Fe)₇C₃ (M7C3) chromium carbides inside a martensitic matrix after quench and temper heat treatment — the source of its outstanding abrasion resistance.

ElementContent (%)
C1.8 – 3.6
Si≤ 1.0
Mn0.5 – 1.5
Cr23 – 28
Mo≤ 3.0
Ni≤ 2.0
Cu≤ 1.2
P≤ 0.08
S≤ 0.08

Mechanical properties: minimum Vickers hardness 600 HV (approx. 58–62 HRC) after destabilizing heat treatment at 950–1050 °C followed by subcritical tempering.

Equivalent Standards: ASTM A532 Class III Type A, KmTBCr26 and More

International buyers often specify this grade under different national designations. The GJN-HV600 grade (EN-JN3049) is equivalent to ASTM A532 Class III Type A casting in the United States, KmTBCr26 (GB/T 8263) in China, former DIN grade G-X 260 Cr27 in Germany, and BS 4844 Grade 3D casting in the United Kingdom. Composition limits differ slightly between these standards, so we confirm the governing specification with the customer before every order.

EN-GJN-HV600 XCr23 Casting Applications

Every EN-GJN-HV600 XCr23 Casting we produce is aimed at abrasive and erosive service — typically where cheaper steels or Ni-Hard fail prematurely:

  • Slurry pump wet-end parts: impellers, volute liners, throat bushings and shaft sleeves
  • Crusher wear parts: blow bars, jaw plates and cone liners
  • Mill liners and grinding equipment components
  • Shot blasting machine liners and blast wheel parts
  • FGD pump parts for flue gas desulfurization
  • Dredging, cyclone-feed and general mining wear parts, plus chute liners

Manufacturing Process and Quality Control

Leesh Holdings casts the XCr23 cast iron by sand casting for large sections and investment casting for smaller, intricate parts. After casting, parts are destabilized at 950–1050 °C, tempered, and — where drawings require machining — soft annealed, then rough and finish machined by CNC turning, milling and grinding.

Quality is verified on every heat: spectrometer chemical analysis, hardness testing and dimensional inspection, with an EN 10204 3.1 material certificate in each shipment. SGS or BV third-party inspection is available on request.

Why Choose Our EN-GJN-HV600 XCr23 Casting

  • OEM production strictly to your drawings or counter-samples
  • Composition and heat treatment adapted to customer requirements, not a fixed catalog grade
  • Flexible order quantities, from single prototypes to volume batches
  • In-house machining of hard white iron — no third-party delays
  • Export-standard packing with proven on-time shipment records

FAQ

What is the difference between EN-GJN-HV600 XCr23 and ASTM A532 Class III Type A?

Both are 23–28% chromium abrasion resistant white irons and are usually interchangeable in service. EN-GJN-HV600 XCr23 allows a wider carbon range (1.8–3.6% C) and up to 3.0% Mo, while ASTM A532 Class III Type A limits carbon to 2.3–3.0% and molybdenum to 1.5%. We melt to whichever standard governs your purchase order.

What hardness and delivery condition do you supply?

Standard delivery is quench-and-tempered to a minimum of 600 HV (about 58–62 HRC). A soft-annealed condition for follow-on machining is available on request, with final hardening after rough machining.

Can you cast to our drawings, and what is the minimum order quantity?

Yes. We produce per customer requirements from drawings, 3D models or samples. Quantities range from single prototypes to full volume batches, and quotations are typically returned within 24 hours.

Which quality certificates are included?

Each shipment includes an EN 10204 3.1 certificate (spectrometer chemical analysis and hardness report) plus a dimensional inspection report. Third-party inspection by SGS or BV can be arranged before shipment.
