GJS-600-3 Casting is a pearlitic ductile iron grade defined in EN 1563, combining high tensile strength (≥ 600 MPa) with moderate ductility (≥ 3% elongation). It is the European counterpart to GGG60 (DIN 1693), QT600-3 (GB/T 1348) and ASTM A536 80-55-06 — chosen where wear resistance, rigidity and load-bearing capacity take priority over elongation.

600

High Strength

Minimum 600 MPa tensile strength with a pearlitic matrix — built for heavy static and dynamic loads.

Wear Resistance

Pearlitic structure provides good abrasion resistance for gears, slides and contact surfaces.

Sand Casting Advantage

Lower tooling cost vs. investment casting; handles parts up to 5 tons with complex cores.

Full Traceability

Heat-lot traceability, spectro analysis and mechanical test reports supplied with every batch.

Chemical Composition (Typical)

Typical ladle analysis for EN-GJS-600-3. EN 1563 specifies mechanical properties; composition is foundry-controlled to achieve the pearlitic matrix.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is GJS-600-3 equivalent to in ASTM?
EN-GJS-600-3 corresponds to ASTM A536 Grade 80-55-06 (pearlitic ductile iron), QT600-3 in Chinese GB/T 1348, and GGG60 in the former German DIN 1693 standard.
What is the maximum casting weight you can produce?
We handle sand castings from under 1 kg up to approximately 5,000 kg per piece, depending on part geometry and wall thickness requirements.
Can GJS-600-3 be machined after casting?
Yes — the pearlitic matrix is harder than ferritic grades, so we recommend CNC machining with carbide tooling. We offer fully machined finished parts verified with CMM reports.
What documentation comes with each shipment?
Every shipment includes EN 10204 3.1 material certificates covering chemical composition and mechanical properties. Dimensional inspection reports, UT and NDT records are available on request.
